Aoiya.de/embalming has proper layout, volume 1 postponed for September

Alright, the Embalming fansite has been online for a while now, but since I'm rather busy and have issues with all my software (it hates me) I only got to update the main page tonight. Sorry. :(

Anyway, there is not much I can add about the news that the first volume of Embalming was moved back to September. No reason was given, but in any case, if you want to read about Embalming-related news in greater detail, have a look at the website.

The chapter summaries are up until ch. 6, which means they are one chapter behind. I've no idea when you can expect the next update. I make no promises. It's a busy time for me, etc.

And Embalming, by the way, is really damn good.

Embalming: First Japanese tankouban in July

The first volume of Embalming - The Another Tale of Frankenstein will be released on July 4th.

In Jump SQ, Embalming is currently at its fifth chapter.

I have not had time to update the website with chapter summaries, but will try to do so very soon.

Aoiya.de/embalming goes online!

Finally, right? I've been toying around with different layouts over the past few months, and finally chose one that... is extremely simple, and looks like a gym shoe. Hooray!

Stuff that happened: Busou Renkin is still being published in Germany, while it has now finished publication in France and the USA. Gun Blaze West is about to start in the USA, or maybe it has already been released. I did see a review somewhere...

And Embalming is running in Japan, and currently at three chapters. There was no chapter in the January issue - I am not sure about the official reason, but in any case, Embalming was back in the February issue, so all is well with the world.

Embalming has started in Jump SQ!

On November 2nd, the first chapter of Embalming: The Another Tale of Frankenstein, was released. It's a 50 pages chapter titled "DEAD BODY and REVENGER 1" and introduced a new main character, by the name of Fury. It is left to be seen how his story will be connected with that of the characters from the oneshots... in any case, Embalming is a very handsome manga, and plot and characters look promising.

Watsuki fans couldn't be happier, surely.

I must apologize for my laziness over the past months. I won't bore you with excuses, but I should warn you that at the moment, I don't have an internet connection of my own, which will probably mean that I cannot take care of Embalming as well as I would like. My top priority right now is to get the Embalming website going.

In the meantime, maybe you are interested in visiting the forums, where I still try to post as often as possible? It's a bit lonely in there, and it would be great to get a proper dialogue going!

Embalming -The Another Tale of Frankenstein-

Yes, yes, Engrish title. But it is official now: Nobuhiro Watsuki returns with more Embalming, starting November 2nd in Jump SQ! Whether the series will tie in with the oneshots remains unknown, but the promotional ads for Jump SQ show old promo artwork for both oneshots as well as a brand new character... Will he be the protagonist, despite apparantly being very creepy? Will there be some other arrangement? Hmm... just what is Watsuki planning? Isn't this exciting, people?

In any case, you can expect Aoiya.de to cover all things Embalming in an upcoming new section. I've been dying to be able to say this for months! A year, maybe more, hah! Only 88 days left...!

Watsuki: New manga in November! Embalming?

Good news indeed: On November 2nd, Shueisha is going to launch their new monthly shounen magazine, Jump Square. The magazine is the successor of Monthly Shounen Jump, which stopped publication this year due to dropped sales. While some of the more successful Monthly Jump manga are going to continue in the new magazine, there will also be much new material. After all, the magazine wants to be different, and better than the old one. On its website, it merrily announces itself as a "supreme quality manga magazine". Well, I'll trust their word on this, after all, Nobuhiro Watsuki is among the authors who are going to be featured in the magazine's first issue.

Supposedly, this is going to be a serialization of his two Embalming oneshots, which would be absolutely fantastic. However, nothing has officially been announced yet. Keep an eye out for new information to become available.

Oh, and Aoiya.de/watsuki has been updated a little bit. Do have a look. :)

Site news: I am sorry! Look! An update!

Excuse my absence. I don't have a proper excuse for it, only the usual story of interests fighting for my attention. Right now I will try to make this page as complete and wrapped up as possible. By that I mostly mean the Busou Renkin and the Nobuhiro Watsuki sections.

I have edited the Busou Renkin merchandise site. A lot of the info there is only basic, because I do not own the items myself. I hope I can eventually offer you a review of the guidebook, Busou Renkin Infinity, and further information about the second EXPERT CD.

What I want to do next is to finish the episode guide and the character list, then finally get to work on the alchemy pages. Then, only minor edits should follow, and eventually, as soon as the last piece of merchandise has been released and reviewed, I can carefully consider the page "finished" and move on. :)

Also be ready for some updates on the Nobuhiro Watsuki site - mostly cosmetic because he does not yet have any new works out.

Busou Renkin news: BR anime ends! Not the end of BR!

This might be getting ridiculous, I know. Last month, I said I was going through some real-life changes and was fangirling Final Fantasy XII too hard to focus on Busou Renkin. So, things have quietened down a little, but those changes are still happening, and I've started fangirling Heroes very, very badly, and... I know this is no excuse, I'm just crazy! I'm sorry!

However, there are a few things that need reporting, namely the upcoming releases of new Busou Renkin stuff. Because even though the manga ended two years ago and the anime ended last month, Busou Renkin seems to be sort of invincible and just keeps going. You can look forward to the PS2 game Busou Renkin ~ Youkoso Papillon Park E, a novel called Busou Renkin /Z, and Busou Renkin Infinity, which will probably be a fanbook or guidebook of some sorts. The release dates can be seen on the right. I suppose that's easiest for us all.

Yes, I will eventually update the Busou Renkin section with all of this and with the episode reviews. Be patient... :(

Site news: I'm taking a small break!

I've been awfully lazy the last few weeks, I know. At the moment, I'm going through some stuff and changes (I'm not mutating, if that's what you think) and cannot seem to muster the energy to work on the website. Expect me to be back at the end of March or the beginning of April, depending when I'm done moving and can focus on Busou Renkin again. Thoughts of Final Fantasy XII are getting in the way, too. I got it really bad, I tell you. ;)

That means that I probably won't get around to finishing the episode guide before the end of the anime. I am really very sorry about this, but I guess it is better to take some time and do things properly than to rush and do sloppy work. The final episode of the Busou Renkin anime will air on March 28.

Busou Renkin PS2game: A release date has been set for June 28. Read more here.

Busou Renkin news: New merchandise, German manga

On busourenkin.com, a lot of new merchandise was announced, mainly action figures of Kazuki, Tokiko and Papillon, a 1/8 figure of Mahiro, capsule figures and trading cards. We will have to wait a little until we know further details, though.

Meanwhile, all German visitors be advised not to buy Tokyopop Germany's release of the manga. It's not bad, it's a catastrophe. See the review here.

Site news: Sorry for the mistake

If you have tried to access aoiya.de/busourenkin over the past two or three days, you'll have noticed that I accidently stuck the wrong home.htm file into that folder, and all you got displayed was this very page here. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Now I have a request: The next time you see me making a stupid mistake like that, please tell me. I'm only human, too, you see, and not only do I make mistakes all the time, I also could use some sort of acknowledgement that people care about this site a little. Right now, I'm a bit confused as to why no one felt the need to point out to me that my entire Busou Renkin website was inaccessible for two days... I don't want to sound whiny, I would just really, really like to know what people think about this website, and the last time I got an e-mail about it was on January 1st, 2006. And I can't reall explain why no one is talking to me, not even to report obvious mistakes.

Ah well! Enjoy your evenings. I'll try to get some work done on the episode guide tomorrow.  (kaeli@gmx.de)

Busou Renkin news: Anime; game; Busou Renkin Expert CDs

The anime is steadily nearing its end, with only seven episodes to go. While the last two episodes have differed significantly from the manga, there is a good chance that starting with next week's #20, we will return to the manga's original plot.

I was a little busy the past week, but I have started updating and re-making the anime episode guide. Check out episode 18 to see what I mean. It will still take a while until everything is up to date.

The PS2 game's official website was finally opened. Check it out here.

Also, the following two CDs have been announced:

Busou Renkin Expert CD-1 (March 28) - two mini dorama, image song "Kimi ga kureru POWER" (composed by Kouhei Tanaka, sung by Yoshiki Fukuyama), character songs for Kazuki (Jun Fukuyama) and Tokiko (Ryouka Yuzuki)

Busou Renkin Expert CD-2 (May 25) - two mini dorama, 2nd ED "Itoshiki Sekai" by Aya Kagami, character songs for Mahiro (Aya Hirano) aaaaaaaaaaaaand Papillon (Mitsuaki Madono)

Finally, Rie Kugimiya has been announced as the voice actress of Victoria, and Masako Katsuki as Alexandria.

Busou Renkin anime gets new ending theme

Happy new year, everyone. After its short holiday break, Busou Renkin continues with its fifteenth episode, which dives into the next big story arch - and gets an all new ending theme. The new song is Itoshiki Sekai by Aya Kagami. And the ending clip is all about Papillon.

Also: I must apologize for the lack of updates. I hope that I'll get my act together soon and do those long-overdue updates in the anime section.

Site news: Aoiya.de/watsuki in new shape

It is quite obvious that I am in a bit of a layout-fever. More importantly, I have decided to rewrite most of the texts on this website, so expect more updates in the next days or weeks, as I have not yet written everything.

Site news: New layout

The start page has a new layout, obviously. With this, I hope I will be able to report all Watsuki-related news more easily.

Aoiya.de/busourenkin is currently the most actively updated part, constantly kept up-to-date with the anime. Have a look at the episode guide!
