Differences between manga and anime

We're returning closer to the manga again with the rematch between Kazuki and Bravo.

This episode covers the chapters 69 to 71, though again this is not exactly accurate since the events leading to this fight have been changed or restructured.

Character apparances:

  • While the manga shows how Gouta pulls unconscious Negoro out of his hiding place, and how he then makes the decision to spare both Negoro's and Maruyama's lives, the anime does not show what happened to Negoro after Gouta's victory, whether he lived or died.

  • Unlike in the manga, Ikusabe never catches up with the trio, and Angel Gozen does not show up, which means that it is not present during this episode's battle.

  • Only five characters appear in this episode, and one of them only right at the end, in the same manner as he did in the manga. Hiya, Hiwatari.

Additional stuff:

  • The fight has been extended quite a bit. The main moves and events are the same as in the manga, but Kazuki and Bravo get a lot of additional action, similarly to the sparring that was added into the fight against Shuusui in episode 10.

  • Tokiko and Gouta are given a lot more dialogue while they're running towards the fighters.

  • It's sort of minor, but in the anime version, Bravo hits Kazuki with Silver Skin Reverse, at the end, which he does not in the manga.

Missing stuff:

  • Just as with previous episodes, the scenes in town are missing. Here, Kazuki and Bravo don't jump through town, to the bewilderment of the people there, and consequently, Gouta and Tokiko don't race past confused supporting characters. Instead, everything takes place in the wilderness, in a forest, at a waterfall, and finally in the same desolate landscape where the battle was also concluded in the manga.

This list is not guaranteed to be complete and may be updated later with further differences between manga and anime.

If you have any comments, corrections or think that a crucial difference was forgotten, please feel free to inform me.
