Episode 11: Till Death Do Us Part

Air date: December 13rd

Channel: TV Tokyo

Length: 23 minutes

Summary

After a hard battle, the twins have been defeated. Now, Shuusui explains what horrifying events in their childhood led up to them joining L.X.E., and forming the wish to become homunculi so they could be together forever.

Tokiko remains unimpressed, and prepares to kill Shuusui and Ouka. Naturally, Kazuki does not want them to die, and tries desperately to convince her to let them live.

While Kazuki and Tokiko clash, the scene is being watched: not only Papillon is following the fighting from a distance, but also Moonface shows up, and only decides to leave without harming anyone when Captain Bravo appears.

At the end, the stage is set for a final strike against L.X.E.

New characters:

Mayumi Hayasaka

Guest starring:

Sayaka Ohara as Mayumi Hayasaka

Yuu Kobayashi as Shuusui Hayasaka (child)

Wasabi Mizuta as Angel Gozen

Compared to the manga...

This episode covers the manga's chapters 32 to 34.

The flashback of the twins has been toned down considerably, which is a shame because the version in the manga worked so well, by being truly disturbing. Nevertheless, this is very well in the spirit of most other previous changes; the anime is simply a lot less graphic. And this was, after all, by far the most brutal scene in the story.

Opinion

Although I find the change to the flashback regrettable, the episode itself is satisfying.

After the intense fighting from the previous episode, this is definitely a quieter moment in the series, even though the first half especially is ripe with emotions, and matters of life and death.

This episode also features the real introduction of Angel Gozen, who proves to be rather delightful.
